“The mountain asked for silence.
I listened.”
How Shasta Sanctuary came into being
As a spiritual teacher, yogi, and author, I have always believed in the profound power of inner reflection and healing. After losing my brother, Sushant, I found myself deeply overwhelmed — not just by grief, but by the immense noise and pressure from the world around me. It was in those moments of feeling disconnected that I sought refuge in retreats, where silence, simplicity, and nature became my sanctuary.
During those retreats, I experienced the transformative power of stepping away from the chaos and reconnecting with myself. It wasn't just about detoxing from media; it was about healing, rediscovering joy in small moments, and finding clarity. Those experiences were pivotal in my own healing journey, and they inspired me to create something meaningful for others.
I wanted to offer more than words on a page — a place where the silence could do its quiet work.
With that inspiration, I wrote “Pain: A Portal to Enlightenment”, a book that explores how pain can lead to deeper understanding and spiritual awakening. But I knew I wanted to offer more than words on a page. I wanted to create a physical space where others could experience the same transformation I had.
This is how “Shasta Sanctuary” was born — a retreat center where individuals can unplug, heal, and rediscover joy. A sanctuary for those overwhelmed by life, the media, or personal struggles. Just as I found solace in nature and mindfulness, I wanted to offer others a place to detox from the world's demands and reconnect with themselves.

Come share in the silence.
